We get the 2023-24 season underway at 2.30pm on Saturday 22 July 2023 with an away trip to face Holywell Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup. Our manager Michael Johnston has shared his thoughts on this game with us:
"It’s a baptism of fire. They did extremely well last season to push Colwyn Bay right to the wire. The togetherness within their squad is something that we’ve got to match. We’ve got to do that before we actually play football against them. They are a great side and they play for the manager, and it’s refreshing to see. We will go there with high hopes. We go on the basis of being the newly promoted side playing against the team that finished second in the division we’re going into. We’ll go in with optimism and hope that we can get a good result there."
This will be our third ever match against Holywell but our first competitive encounter. In summer 2019, we won 3-1 at home to Holywell on the grass pitch at Treborth in our first ever game in Bangor. In summer 2021, we travelled to face the Wellmen in a friendly that was played behind closed doors due to Covid restrictions and finished goalless.
