Bangor 1876 extended their winning record to a fifth consecutive Gwynedd Football League victory at Talysarn Celts on Saturday.
In front of a record attendance at Gloddfa Glai, it was the home side who took the initiative to open the scoring in the ninth minute when centre forward Glyn Thomas unleashed an unstoppable shot from distance to beat Leon Jones in the Bangor goal.
A finely poised contest then emerged as Bangor 1876 probed for an equaliser and Talysarn continued to pose a potent attacking threat. Bangor 1876 levelled the scoreline in the 31st minute when a Les Davies flick on allowed Dylan Williams to score from 6 yards range.
Both sides continued to create goalscoring chances. In a rare foray upfield, Bangor skipper Michael Johnston was denied by Peter Bridges' timely challenge as he sought to pounce on Celts 'keeper Page's spill. Left back Jos Lloyd also unleashing a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area that flashed wide of the target.
The home side also kept the Bangor defence, well marshalled by the exemplary Johnston, on their toes. Goalkeeper Leon Jones was again on hand to save smartly low to his right hand side as the half time interval loomed.
The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half time. A probing run by Dylan Summers-Jones was cut short by Talysarn right back Osian Jones and Les Davies sent the resulting free kick into the bottom right hand corner of Brian Page's goal from just outside the 18 yard box.

Ten minutes into the second period, Bangor were forced into an early change as Dafydd Thomas replaced goalscorer Dylan Williams in the central midfield role.
With the hour mark approaching, Bangor 1876 were offered the opportunity to increase the lead after substitute Thomas was felled inside the box. Up stepped leading scorer and designated penalty taker Jamie Petrie to fire home beyond Celts 'keeper Page.
A second soon followed, a barnstorming Les Davies run through the heart of the Talysarn midfield set up Dylan Summers-Jones inside the left hand side of the penalty area. The young striker sent a low right footed delivery across the face of the goal which eluded the goalkeeper and found Jamie Petrie at the far post whose emphatic finish made the scoreline 4-1 in the 61st minute.
Another change was made just a minute later as right back Dion Jones received treatment before being replaced by Matthew Lock. If Bangor thought they were home and dry then they were given food for thought as Talysarn continued to look for a way back into the match.
Jos Lloyd conceded a free kick down the right hand side in the 75th minute, and from the resulting set piece delivery, Talysarn's Gerwyn Williams was on hand to finish at the far post and reduce the deficit.
Bangor 1876's management team made their third and final substitution late on with the experienced Iwan Williams replacing youngster Cameron Barry in midfield as the visitors sought to steady the ship for the closing stages.
