Unbeaten Bangor 1876 return to Gwynedd Football League action on Saturday with a visit to Talysarn Celts' Gloddfa Glai home (2:30pm Kick Off).
The Dyffryn Nantlle club have enjoyed a promising start to their 2019-20 campaign and sit in fourth place in the league table, one place above Bangor 1876. With a record of four wins, one draw and one loss, the Celts enter the weekend a solitary point ahead of the visitors.
Those wins came against Ogwen Tigers (5-3), Bethesda Athletic (5-4), Llanystumdwy (4-1) at home, and away at Glantraeth (5-3). Menai Bridge Tigers (4-0) are the only team to have beaten Talysarn in the League this term, while the points were shared at Bro Goronwy last weekend in a 2-2 stalemate.
Bangor 1876 meanwhile notched up their seventh consecutive win in a 3-1 verdict over Welsh Alliance Football League Division Two opponents CPD Pwllheli in the FAW Trophy last Saturday. Two goals from Jos Lloyd and one from Cameron Barry ensured progress through to Round Three of the competition and an away tie against Llanrwst United on Saturday, 26 October.
Eleven goal leading scorer Jamie Petrie missed out last weekend through illness but is expected to return to the starting line-up on Saturday. Mel Jones and his management team are expected to have a full-strength squad available for the trip to Talysarn with no reported injury doubts.
With a large travelling support expected at Gloddfa Glai on Saturday, the hosts will have hot & cold snacks and refreshments available at the ground from 1:15pm onwards.
