On Saturday 30 November, we are away to Buckley Town in what will be our first ever encounter with the Flintshire side at their home ground The Globe (postcode CH7 3LY). The game kicks off at 2pm.
Due to the condition of their pitch, our away fixture against Buckley on 2 December last year was moved to the Deeside Stadium in Connah’s Quay. On that occasion, a first half double from Connor Littler gave the Bucks a 2-0 half-time advantage. However, there was to be a dramatic finish to the game. Sam Jones got us back into contention with ten minutes left before Corrig McGonigle headed in an equaliser with three minutes left on the clock. Sam Jones broke away in the final minute of normal time to score what turned out to be the winner.
Buckley have made an impressive start to the season and are currently three points ahead of us in fourth position in the table. Due to the postponement of their match away to Denbigh last weekend, our hosts this weekend have only played two matches so far this month. They began November with a 3-0 win at home to Llay Welfare in which Liam Driscoll scored a hat-trick. They followed up that result with a 2-0 away victory against Prestatyn Town thanks to goals from Daniel Holland and Max Moore.
This Saturday’s match promises to be a keenly contested encounter so please make the trip to cheer on our team if you can.
