On Friday 22 November, we welcome Holywell Town to the Bangor City Stadium for a game that kicks off at 7.45pm.
Holywell Town are the first team we ever played in Bangor and the first Welsh team we faced. We encountered them on the grass pitch at Treborth a pre-season friendly during summer 2019. On that occasion, we won 3-1 thanks to a goal from Dion Jones on his debut and a double by Jamie Petrie. Jacob Wise netted for the visitors.
We began last season with a 3-2 win away to Holywell Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup. Since then, we have lost in each of the three occasions when we have played the Wellmen in the JD Cymru North. Most recently, we were defeated 2-1 at the Bartons North Wales Stadium on 7 September. Jamie Breese and Danny Sullivan scored for the hosts before Mason Blackwell-Jones reduced the deficit late on.
Holywell have been one of the most consistent teams in our division in recent seasons and are currently third in the table. So far this month, they have won 5-1 at home to Ruthin and 2-1 at home to Guilsfield.
Please come along to cheer on our team under thei lights this Friday evening. If you've started your Christmas shopping and are looking for presents for Bangor 1876 fans, have a look at our merchandise stall in the clubhouse.
