On Friday 8 November, we welcome Ruthin Town to the Bangor City Stadium for a JD Cymru North league match. It kicks off at 7.45pm.
We began our season with a match away to Ruthin in the Nathaniel MG League Cup on 19 July. After a goalless first half at the Memorial Playing Fields, the hosts scored a pair of second half goals thanks to Joshua Evans and Jack Edwards. Corrig McGonigle found the net in injury time but it was not enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat.
Friday’s match will be our fifth encounter with Ruthin and they are a side that we are yet to beat. We lost 2-0 at home to Ruthin in the Welsh Cup at Treborth in our first season back in 2019-20. Last term, we were defeated 4-0 in our away league fixture against them in the first half of the season before drawing 0-0 in the return fixture in the spring.
Ruthin are currently tenth in the table, having won five, drawn one, and lost seven of their thirteen matches. Ruthin began last month with a 1-0 loss at home to Buckley in the league but won 3-1 away to Penrhyncoch the following week. Even more impressively, they then had an away win against Holywell Town in the Welsh Cup where they triumphed in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. Ruthin concluded October with a 2-0 win at home to Guilsfield in the league, and began this month with a 5-1 defeat away to Holywell last weekend.
This Friday’s match has the makings of an exciting encounter under the lights, so please come along to start the weekend by cheering on our team at the Bangor City Stadium.
