On Friday 13 September at 7.45pm, we welcome Flint Mountain to the Bangor City Stadium for a home league match at the Bangor City Stadium.
We played Flint Mountain twice during the 2022-23 season that ended with our promotion to tier 3 following a play-off victory against Prestatyn. On 24 September 2022, we won 5-0 at Treborth thanks to a double from Corrig McGonigle and further goals from Les Davies, Jamie Petrie, and Harry Galeotti. The visitors played the majority of the game with ten men after their captain Richie Foulkes was off for violent conduct in the 34th minute.
At a crucial stage of the season, we then secured a dramatic 3-2 win away to Flint Mountain on 31 March 2023. Goals from Frankie Antoine and Sam Molyneux had the hosts two goals ahead after an action-packed opening half hour during which Corrig McGonigle also missed a penalty..However, Jamie Petrie reduced the deficit to a single goal with a sharp finish. Inside the last ten minutes, two goals in as many minutes from Gethin Thomas and Liam Morris put us 3-2 ahead. It then took a spectacular save by Huw Shaw following an injury time free-kick in order to secure the three points.
Flint Mountain’s last league match at home to Denbigh Town on 6 September was full of goals and drama. Earlier in the second half, Mountain found themselves 4-1 ahead. However, the visitors secured a 4-4 draw after converting a penalty with five minutes of normal time remaining and thus netting from the spot for the second time in the second half.
This Friday's match has all the makings of an exciting encounter under the lights, so please come along to cheer on our team.
