At 2.30pm on Saturday 17 August, we welcome Guilsfield to Bangor for our second home match of the new season.
Last term, we were involved in several close encounters with this weekend's opponents. In September 2023, we exited the Welsh Blood Service after a 2-1 home defeat against the Mid Wales team. The visitors established a two goal lead thanks to strikes from Jamie Hyne and Reece Warder before Mason Blackwell-Jones reduced the deficit with his first goal for Bangor.
In our second last fixture before Christmas last year, we were on the right end of a 2-1 scoreline thanks to a late headed winner from Craig Whelan. Earlier, Corrig McGonigle’s opening goal had been cancelled out by Andrew Evans.
In April of this year, we won away to Guilsfield by the familiar scoreline of 2-1. Goals from Liam Morris and Iolo Hughes had us two goals ahead at half-time before Iwan Matthews brough the hosts back into contention towards the end of the second half.
This season, Guilsfield have continued their trend of being involved in games that involve winning or losing by the odd goal in three. They began their league campaign with a 2-1 loss at home to fellow Mid Wales team Caersws before suffering a home defeat against AIrbus by the same scoreline.
Please come along on Saturday to cheer on our team.
