On Tuesday 6 August at 7.45pm, we welcome Mold Alexandra in our first home league match of the season.
Mold began their league campaign with an impressive 3-1 win at home to Corwen. Two of their goals were scored by summer signing Owen Cordiner, who joined from Corwen. Fellow new signing Emmanuel Lawal also found the net in his first league game since joining Alex from Prestatyn Town.
The weekend before their league win against Llandudno, Mold exited the Nathaniel MG Cup after a 3-2 defeat away to Airbus despite two goals from Craig Rogers.
Last season, Mold finished just above us in fourth place in the JD Cymru North. Both of our encounters with them were keenly contested games. Early in the season, we lost 3-1 away to Mold. Danny Warren, who is now with Airbus, opened the scoring before Sam Jones failed to capitalise on an opportunity to equalise from the penalty spot. Craig McGonigle brought the sides level just before half-time but Sam Duffy put Mold back in front with 20 minutes left. An unfortunate own goal by Dan Cox in injury time clinched the home side’s victory.
In mid-March this year, there was only one goal when Mold arrived to play the return league match. Dale Davies found the target with his first home goal for Bangor after his mid-season arrival from Chirk.
This Tuesday's game has the makings of an exciting encounter, so please come along to cheer on our side under the lights by the Menai Strait.
