This Saturday (29 July), we play our first ever match in the JD Cymru North when we welcome Llanidloes to Nantporth. The match kicks off at 2.30pm.
In the coming days, we'll be bringing you our manager Michael Johnston's thoughts on what playing at Nantporth means for our club. Johno has recently told us that this season is a big one for our club that provides a lot to be excited about:
"This will be the season where people take note of us. We’ve been expected to do what we’ve done so far and this season will be a huge, huge test for us. We’re under no illusions. I think a lot of people will be happy for us just to cement our place within this league but we want to finish as high as we can and we want to give a good account of ourselves. We want to improve on the previous season and show everyone that we are worthy of being where we are."
This Saturday's opponents Llanidloes are a club with a long history, having been founded back in 1875. The record books show that they played a match against fellow Mid Wales team Newtown on Christmas Day 1875.
Llanidloes have won the Welsh Amateur Cup on several occasions and were founder members of the League of Wales in 1992. They were promoted to the JD Cymru North in 2020 after winning Mid Wales Division 1. We look forward to welcoming Llanidloes to Nantporth.
Entry to Saturday's match costs £6 for adults and £3 for concessions. Anyone who has purchased a season ticket but not yet collected it will be able to do so from the entrance to the clubhouse in the back of the main stand.
Whilst the clubhouse will be open pre-match from 1pm, please note that it will not be open after the match as it has been booked for an event.
