We continue our preparations for the new season with a friendly against Menai Bridge Tigers on Tuesday 16 July at 7.30pm. Please note that this match will take place on the grass pitch at Treborth due to work taking place on the pitch at Nantporth.
Menai Bridge Tigers had an excellent season in 2023-24. They finished second in Tier 4, securing promotion to Tier 3. They also had a memorable win away to Rhyl in the Welsh Cup, triumphing on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
We have played Menai Bridge Tigers in quite a few different competitions over the last five years. During the 2021-22 season, our league derby was billed as the most local of derby matches in UK football. At the time, we were playing our home games on the 3G pitch at Treborth and Tigers were playing their home matches on the nearby grass pitch. The story about this match which is very occasionally known as 'El Straitico' made it onto S4C, BBC Radio Cymru, BBC Radio Wales, and the BBC Sport' website.
Our games against the Tigers have often been exciting matches with plenty of goals, so please come along on Tuesday if you can. Due to several other events taking place at Treborth the same evening, the road from the roundabout to the pitch is likely to be very busy. Consequently, it would be a good idea to allow plenty of time for.your journey.
