Following last weekend's enforced lay-off, CPD Bangor 1876 FC return to action this Saturday as they host Llanfairfechan Town FC in a North Wales Coast FA Junior Cup Second Round tie at Treborth (2pm Kick Off).
Bangor 1876 progressed to the Second Round courtesy of a 3-1 win versus Llanelwy Athletic at Rhyl FC's Belle Vue ground back in mid-October, with Dylan Williams, Luke Steele and Benn Lundstram the goalscorers on that occasion.
Meanwhile visitors Llanfairfechan Town enter the Junior Cup at the Second Round stage having received a bye in the First Round of the competition. The Vale of Clwyd & Conwy Football League Premier Division club currently sit in third place in the standings just two points behind joint leaders Rhuddlan Town and Abergele.
Under the management of Dave Croston, Llanfairfechan Town's league form consists of six wins and one defeat and they also boast the best defensive record in the Premier Division, conceding just five goals to date. November results include impressive wins on the road at Llanelwy Athletic (8-0) and Llandudno Athletic (6-1), both former opponents of Bangor 1876 in cup competitions this season.
Buoyed by an emphatic thirteen goal victory over Llanystumdwy on their last outing a fortnight ago, Bangor 1876 will be looking to maintain their early season momentum against near neighbours Llanfairfechan Town.
Manager Mel Jones and assistant Dylan Williams will not be able to call upon the services of either skipper Michael Johnston or forward Les Davies due to NWCFA competition rules. However, with Jos Lloyd the only other definite absentee as he continues his recovery from a broken metatarsal, the management duo should have a strong squad available for selection.
