We are delighted to announce the signing of 23 year old attacker Liam Morris from Holyhead Hotspur. Liam scored ten goals for Hotspur in the JD Cymru North (Tier 2) last season and also added a further goal in the Welsh Cup.
In addition to finding the net for Holyhead Hotspur, Liam has also scored several goals in representative matches in recent years. Only last month, he was part of the Cymru North side that beat their Cymru South counterparts 4-2 at Britton Ferry. After the team from the South had gone 2-0 ahead, Liam scored the first goal for the North as they mounted an impressive comeback.
Liam was also part of the Ynys Mon team that won the Men’s Football tournament at the 2019 Island games. He scored several key goals in the tournament, notably in the 1-0 win in the crucial final group game against Jersey in Llangefni and in the 2-1 victory against Guernsey in the final at Holyhead.
Our player manager Michael Johnson has expressed his pleasure at recruiting Liam Morris:
“Liam is a great player and will be a fantastic addition to our squad. He has an excellent scoring record and was top scorer at Holyhead Hotspur last year. His quality, work rate, energy and aggression will really be beneficial to us when it comes to making that step up to tier 3.”
