Our head of development Ifan Thomas is leaving Bangor 1876 and will be taking on a new coaching role with the Wales under-14 side.
We are tremendously grateful to Ifan for his work in his role in coordinating our junior section. Our chairman Glynne Roberts has stated that "Bangor 1876 would like to thank Ifan for his considerable input into the Development Centre, and congratulate him on his recent appointment with the Wales under-14s”.
As a club, it has been our intention to create pathways that enable young local players to develop and become part of our first team. We are proud to have many young, local players of considerable talent in our first team squad. At our club they have the opportunity to learn from coaches and senior players who bring a wealth of experience.
We are a fan-owned club and depend on the dedication of volunteers in order to exist and work on a variety of fronts. As our chairman recently stated “we need more people to volunteer and provide support as coaches in the junior section, and to help administer our junior sides”.
We are also keen to have more volunteers working in a range of other roles within the club, notably on matchdays and in a variety of capacities that are highly important in order to help our club to continue to grow.
As a club, we are tremendously grateful to everyone who gives their time and energy to helping us to run the teams we do and to develop. If you would like to help us to continue our development on and off the pitch, please get in touch via the ‘contact’ section of our website: https://www.bangor1876.com/contact.
