Fan-owned football has been mentioned on Channel 4’s legendary quiz show Countdown
thanks to Bangor 1876 fan and co-owner Rhodri Tomos.

When introducing Rhodri on the show on Thursday, October 10th, host Colin Murray had
a chat about the club with Rhodri.

“I’ve watched the show for years,” said Rhodri, “and now that I’m retired, I thought I’d
give it a go."

“When I got accepted onto the show I had to fill in some questionaires about my
interests and naturally Bangor 1876 featured prominently."

“As Colin is a huge football fan and is associated with Pontypridd in the Cymru South, it
was no surprise he chose to talk about that.”

When the cameras stopped rolling, Colin spoke of his support of fan-owned football
clubs and wished 1876 all the best for the rest of the season.

As for the show itself... well Bangor 1876 now have a Countdown champion in our
